Accessibility at Claspo

Accessibility at Claspo

At Claspo, we believe that high-converting popups should be accessible to every user. Some visitors click with a mouse, others use a keyboard, and some depend on screen readers — but all of them deserve the same smooth experience with your brand.

With regulations like the European Accessibility Act (EAA) becoming more important, we’re making sure Claspo helps you stay ready. Our goal is simple: to make sure your popups are as welcoming as they are effective.

Claspo accessibility features

We build popups that are easy to perceive, simple to navigate, and clear to understand for every user.

Feature How it works WCAG criterion Status
Advanced keyboard control Full navigation using Tab and Shift+Tab. Includes:
Focus Trapping — keeps users inside the popup.
Focus Visibility — clear halos or indicators show where a user is.
2.1.1 Keyboard
2.4.7 Focus Visible
Intelligent focus management When a popup opens, the focus moves to the container first. This gives screen reader users context before they start typing. 2.4.3 Focus Order
Screen reader semantics We use ARIA roles (dialog, region) and modal tags so assistive software understands the popup's purpose. 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value
Functional alt text Image and Floating Image components (including clickable image elements) support alternative text. If a user can't see the "Buy" icon, their screen reader will say it. 1.1.1 Non-text Content
Keyboard shortcuts Users can immediately close any popup using the Esc key, ensuring a fast and non-intrusive experience for keyboard-only users. 2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap
Accessible form controls Ensuring every input field, checkbox, and consent toggle has a clear, readable label. 3.3.2 Labels Q2 2026

How to create accessible popups with Claspo

To ensure your popups meet EAA requirements, please follow these best practices within our builder:

  • Use the alt text field: Every clickable image should have a clear description, like “20% off all winter coats.”

  • Check contrast: Text should stand out from the background with a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.

  • Add accessible videos: If your popup has a video in it, make sure it has closed captions (CC).

  • Keep headings structured: Use H1, H2, and H3 in the right order to create a clear reading flow for both users and screen readers.

Transparency & compliance statement

І. Our progress

Claspo is currently conducting an internal self-assessment. We are dedicated to continuous technical improvement to meet the requirements of the ADA, EAA, and AODA.

ІІ. Microenterprise status & the EAA

Claspo Inc., registered in the State of Delaware, United States, is recognized as a microenterprise (fewer than 10 employees). Under Article 4(5) of Directive (EU) 2019/882, microenterprises are exempt from certain full accessibility obligations for digital services. However, we choose to prioritize these features because our clients — ranging from small shops to global brands — require accessible tools to maintain their own compliance.

ІІІ. Limitations & responsibility

While we provide the accessible foundation for your popups, final compliance depends on your content choices:

  • Ongoing work: Complex internal areas, such as the drag-and-drop editor canvas, are currently being audited for future accessibility improvements.

  • Third-party content: Claspo is not responsible for the accessibility of third-party scripts, widgets, or APIs that you choose to integrate into your Claspo popups.

Feedback & contact

We are committed to inclusivity. If you encounter an accessibility barrier or require information in an alternative format, please reach out. We strive to assist in a timely and inclusive manner.
